How We Met the Rigorous Standards of B Corp Certification

When Michelle and Susan founded HigherRing, their goal was to create quality jobs by providing extraordinary customer service and back office support to their like-minded clients.  They believe that GREAT customer service is a valued skill and that customer service professionals, when engaged as members of a company's marketing and operations team, can play an important role in attracting and retaining customers.   We actively look for and partner with clients who also understand that customer service, if done well, pays for itself.

 

HigherRing is proud to provide  a living wage, healthcare and other benefits including company ownership at the management levels to our team. Although our team members work from home, our use of chat software means that we can collaborate even more closely than team members working in the same physical location. We problem solve and crowdsource solutions to difficult customer issues in real time and create a community environment that is unique in this industry.  We work hard to ensure flexible schedules so that employees can work around family and volunteer commitments. We celebrate our employees starting at the bottom and working their way up; 100% of our movement through the ranks are internal moves. We encourage 401K participation, subsidize internet usage and have a robust wellness program where we celebrate movement and healthy food.  Our leadership team takes shifts on a regular basis to ensure we understand our employees’ experiences and can advocate for win-win policy changes that make sense for customers, clients, employees and leadership. One percent of our profits are donated to environmental organizations specifically working to solve the climate change challenges of our time.  We also work within our local San Francisco community with our non-profit partner Hamilton Families working to provide housing a support to families experiencing homelessness.

Hamilton Families Heading Home Campaign

 

The Heading Home Campaign is a $30mm initiative to house 800 homeless families with children in SF Unified School District through Rapid Re-Housing services.

 

There are more than 1,800 homeless students in San Francisco’s public schools – translating to approximately 1,145 families that do not have stable housing. This is both unacceptable and completely solvable. The Heading Home Campaign will help at least 800 families with students in the San Francisco Unified School District (SFUSD) find permanent housing, with a least 450 in housing by 2020. This effort will support San Francisco’s broader goal of ending long-term family homelessness.
